The 1.5 Million Penny Drive

"One of the greatest lessons my father taught me was to give" Elie Wiesel

1.5 million children were the victims of Nazi terror. To honor their memory we are donating 100% of the 1.5 million pennies ($15,000) raised to families who have been impacted by terrorism in Israel. We seek to help those who lost a wage earner and are having trouble putting food on the table and making ends meet. We are not using an intermediary organization; you are guaranteed that every penny will be sent to families in need. A donation of $100 will feed a family of four for approximately one week.

The 1.5 Million Penny Drive is a very important nationwide fundraising effort established by Bay Area native, Emily Dubois. She started the drive in high school when she was the Palo Alto United Synagogue Youth Social Action Vice President and now as a young adult in the Jewish community she continues to spearhead this passion project. Synagogues and Jewish day schools from all over the Bay Area are still involved and thanks to you we gained national support!

We have collected and donated more than $37,000 (exceeding the original goal of $15,000 in 2003) thanks to your efforts. Each one of us can make a huge difference. Let's do our best to help those in need in Israel during these difficult times.

Thank you very much for your generous support!
